Szechenyi Baths & Pool: Fun Place, Fine Palace
Szechenyi Baths (built in 1913) is the most visited and much praised attraction in Budapest: relaxing, fun, affordable and, in the evenings, romantic. In addition to the marvellous medicinal natural hot spring waters in the 18 pools, there are over 6 saunas / steam cabins, several massage therapies, facial treatments, and more. Before making a visit, please check if the FAQ has a reply to your questions.
Szechenyi Bath is in the biggest green park of Budapest, in the beautiful City Park, close to a bunch of Budapest attractions. The Neo-baroque palace was specifically built for hosting Szechenyi Baths as Hungary has been the country of baths (and Budapest the City of Baths) for many centuries.
The history of thermal bathing starts with the Roman settlers who built the first spa baths (Aquincum was the Roman’s settlement in today’s ‘old Buda’ district. Then, through the 16th century, Turkish occupiers built many of the famous and revived Turkish baths in Budapest. The 19-21st century even grew further in popularity, promoting natural medical trends where aqua therapies and their beneficial effects attracted hundreds of thousands to thermal spas all over Hungary. The beautiful building of Szechenyi Bath is the design of Gyozo Czigler (Győző Czigler) who started to build Szechenyi Furdo in 1909. As an exciting contrast, these days the bath welcomes thousands of young people to a dazzling laser disco with throbbing vibrations to enjoy an ultimate bath party almost every Saturday night.
Come and enjoy your time in Budapest in Szechenyi Bath, in a beautiful, richly decorated palace. The perfect place to chill out, to get to know locals, make business deals and fall in love. If you are interested in learning more about Budapest baths, explore some more on Baths Budapest.

Hello, I am trying to make a booking for January 1, 2025 but it is not letting me. Can I please have help with this?
I’ve tried to do the same. Maybe we cannot book in advance.
Same problem with me!

Dear Kasmi,
Thank you for your inquiry.
We’ve emailed you with more information.
Looking for ways to celebrate the New Year in Budapest? We recommend checking out New Year’s time in Budapest NYE on the following page:
https://szechenyibath.com/szechenyi-bath-new-years-eve-and-new-years-day-opening-hours/
I read some reviews online that mantioned the closing of some pools due to renovations. Is it still the case?
Dear Lorenzo,
Thank you for your email.
All three outdoor pools are currently open, two indoor pools (P11 Crescent pool 34 degrees C, P12 Rectangular pool 38 degrees C) are expected to be maintained, out of the 18 pools. These are right in the middle of the indoor section and there is a corridor path circumnavigating guests to access more pools further inside the complex.
Please find the below floor plan with the numbered pools for your reference:
https://szechenyibath.com/szechenyi-bath-floorplan-outdoor-and-indoor-pools-with-numbers/
If you click on the image, you will see a larger version where the number shows which of the 18 pools are being maintained or are expected to be under maintenance.
Kindly note, however, that the Bath reserves the right to carry out maintenance works without further notice, on demand.
Thank you for your understanding.

My friends and I are thinking of going to Budapest for a weekend trip. We would like to know if the Szechenyi Night Party will be happening between on the weekend of 24th, 25th and 26th of January 2025?
Dear Otavio,
Thank you for reaching out.
Unfortunately, there will be no Sparty events in January, 2025. From December 14th to February 1st, there will be a winter break, and during this period, only the year-end party on December 30th will take place. The Sparty dates for February 2025 onwards are expected to be published on the website soon.
